$ShaToken: A Peer-to-Peer Birthday Gift System

The world’s first shatcoin.

Version 1.0. Keywords: birthday, blockchain, hash functions, surnames, love, questionable financial decisions.

Abstract

A purely peer-to-peer version of a birthday gift would allow a birthday to be celebrated directly, without going through the traditional intermediary (the greeting-card industry). Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the principal benefit is lost if a trusted third party is still required to prevent the gift from being re-gifted, returned to the store, or forgotten in a drawer. We propose a solution to the birthday-gift problem using a fixed-supply token on Solana. The premise is simple. Mikhail Shatokhin exists, his surname sounds exactly like “SHA Token,” and the blockchain was, until now, incomplete without him. We show that a gift secured by revoked mint authority, revoked freeze authority, and burned liquidity cannot be returned, rugged, or emotionally returned to sender. It is, by construction, the world’s first shatcoin, and, we will argue, the most transparent birthday present in recorded human history. This is not financial advice. It is birthday advice.

1. Introduction

The SHA (Secure Hash Algorithm) family has long been a cornerstone of cryptographic security. SHA-256 secures Bitcoin. SHA-3 protects countless systems. Yet “SHA-Token,” the single most on-the-nose crypto name in existence, remained unclaimed for the entire history of the digital-asset space. This is not merely an oversight. It is a catastrophic market inefficiency, and it is the inefficiency this paper corrects.

When a man’s surname sounds like a cryptocurrency, you do not make him a birthday card. You make him a birthday blockchain. The etymology writes itself. The blockchain demanded it.

2. Problem Statement

Prior to the events described in this paper, the following was true:

Mikhail Shatokhin, a person whose surname literally sounds like “SHA Token,” did not have his own cryptocurrency.

We cannot overstate the severity of this. Consider the market failure in its full dimensions:

  1. A name of unimpeachable cryptographic pedigree was being used exclusively for payroll and calendar invites.
  2. The prevailing gift-market alternatives (mugs, socks, a card signed by fourteen people who could not think of anything to write) offer no on-chain verifiability whatsoever.
  3. Existing birthday gifts suffer from a fatal liquidity problem: they cannot be traded, tracked, or independently confirmed on a public ledger. Their total supply is undocumented. Their authorities are never revoked.

The literature is unanimous. This represents a catastrophic market inefficiency that $ShaToken corrects.

3. Solution

We introduce $ShaToken, a self-aware meme token on Solana, minted as a genuine, tradeable, disclaimered birthday gift. The design goals, in order of importance:

The mechanism of gifting is direct. The token is minted, its authorities are permanently revoked, its liquidity is burned, and a bag is airdropped to Misha’s wallet so that he discovers, ideally on his birthday, ideally before we say a word, that he is now the namesake of a functioning cryptocurrency. The intended reveal is short and deadpan:

Happy birthday, Mikhail. Your name sounded like “SHA Token.” So I made it one. Check your wallet. Welcome to $ShaToken.

4. Technical Architecture

A note on innovation: there is none, and this is deliberate. We did not write a custom smart contract. We did not try to innovate at the protocol level, and frankly, you are welcome. Every primitive below is battle-tested, boring, and audited by people far more serious than us. Restraint is the feature.

4.1 The mint. $ShaToken is a classic SPL token on Solana, chosen for two reasons that matter for a gift: fees are fractions of a cent, and Phantom is the friendliest wallet to hand to someone who has never owned crypto. On-chain identity is attached via the Metaplex Token Metadata program: the name field, the symbol ShaToken, and the image.

4.2 On the symbol. The on-chain symbol is ShaToken (8 characters). Metaplex enforces a MAX_SYMBOL_LENGTH of 10, and it rejects longer symbols rather than truncating them, so at 8 characters ShaToken fits with room to spare. We are aware that most tickers are short, all-caps, and three letters. We considered SHA. We rejected it. When your entire product is a pun, you spell out the pun. The brand wordmark is $ShaToken.

4.3 We deployed it ourselves, and that is a feature. We chose to self-deploy the mint and metadata by hand rather than press a launchpad button, because a gift you assembled yourself feels more real than a gift you ordered. Yes, we did it ourselves. That is the point. Fixed parameters:

Parameter Value Permanence
Chain Solana Fixed
Standard SPL plus Metaplex Token Metadata Fixed
Total supply 1,000,000,000 (one billion) Minted once, then frozen
Decimals 6 Permanent (decimals cannot be changed)
Mint authority Revoked Irreversible
Freeze authority Revoked Irreversible
Metadata-update authority Locked Name and image frozen forever

The ceremony is sequenced with care, because most of it cannot be undone. Mint the full one billion first, then disable freeze, then lock metadata, then revoke the mint authority last. The entire mint-and-revoke ceremony costs well under a dollar in network fees. We rehearse it first, because you get exactly one live run and it is on someone’s birthday.

4.4 The mark. The official logo of $ShaToken is Misha’s mustache, a bold vector mustache rendered as a single clean path, an inside joke the whole crew already gets. The square coin image is the mustache centered on a gold or near-black disc. It needs no likeness rights, reads instantly as “Misha,” and is iconic at any size. There is no other logo. There was once a coin in a Russian hat. It has been retired with honors.

4.5 Tradeability. A minted token is not tradeable until liquidity exists. We create a Raydium CPMM pool, chosen specifically because it issues a fungible, burnable LP token (the Meteora DAMM v2 route issues a position NFT you cannot burn, so it is not an option for us). Once the pool is seeded, the token auto-lists for free on DexScreener and GeckoTerminal within minutes of the first trade, logo and all, pulled straight from on-chain metadata. We pay no one for a listing. Anyone selling guaranteed listings is selling nothing.

5. Tokenomics

One billion, accounted for.

Total supply is 1,000,000,000 $ShaToken at 6 decimals, minted exactly once and never again. The published allocation:

Allocation Share Recipient
Liquidity 80% Seeded to the pool, then the LP is burned
Birthday Boy 10% Misha’s stash, the largest non-LP wallet
Team airdrop 10% An even split across the crew’s wallets

The largest non-liquidity wallet is 10%, held by the honoree himself. For reference, on-chain risk tooling treats roughly 30% top-holder concentration as caution and roughly 70% as danger. There is no magic 40% cliff. At 10%, the birthday boy’s bag is comfortably, boringly, transparently small. (There is no creator treasury. We considered one, then remembered we are the treasury.)

6. Trust and Anti-Rug

We will now address the elephant. Yes, we have joked, repeatedly, that we would “never rug you (probably).” We stand by the joke and we reject the premise. Here is what is provable on-chain, today, by anyone, without trusting us at all:

The honest caveat, because honesty is the whole brand: burning liquidity prevents a liquidity-pull rug. It does not physically prevent a holder from selling their own tokens. So the final trust signal is behavioral, not cryptographic, and we will state it plainly. The team holds and gifts. The team does not dump. This is a present. Presents are not exit liquidity.

7. Roadmap

Five phases. We are very serious.

Phase Name The milestones Status
Phase 0 The Secret Site staged privately, mint rehearsed, mustache finalized, nobody breathes a word. Next
Phase 1 The Genesis Block Token live, website live, Misha receives his birthday blockchain. The synchronized reveal. Soon
Phase 2 The Awakening Tracker listings, first trades, first memes. One hundred holders. Soon
Phase 3 Community Takeover Meme competition. The world discovers Misha has his own cryptocurrency. Soon
Phase 4 World Domination One thousand holders. Misha updates his LinkedIn to “CEO of ShaToken.” Merch store. Soon
Phase 5 The Flippening $ShaToken surpasses Bitcoin (definitely happening). World peace achieved through meme coins. Soon

Each phase is exactly one notch more delusional than the last. That is not a bug in the roadmap. That is the roadmap.

8. Team

A world-class team assembled by fate (and a birthday).

Member Title Bio
Mikhail “Misha” Shatokhin Chief Inspiration Officer “Did not ask for any of this. You are welcome.” His entire contribution was existing and having the correct surname. The honoree, never the punchline.
The Creator Founder and Chief Birthday Gifter “Saw a name. Saw an opportunity. Built a blockchain.” Technically several people, grammatically a “we.”
The Mustache Chief Visual Identity Officer “Does not speak. Does not need to.” The official mark. Has never signed a likeness release and never will, being a mustache.
The Community Everyone Else “You are reading this, so you are on the team now.” If you hold $ShaToken, please update your résumé accordingly.

9. Risk Factors

We are legally and morally obligated to disclose the following. Some are jokes. All are true.

Operational risks:

Actual, non-joking financial risks:

10. Conclusion

$ShaToken resolves a market inefficiency that had persisted since the invention of the hash function: a man named, phonetically, “SHA Token” did not have a SHA token. He does now.

As a birthday gift, $ShaToken is objectively superior to the alternatives on every axis a serious analyst would measure. It cannot be returned to the store. It cannot be re-gifted without a public, timestamped record. It has a fixed, verifiable, permanently non-inflatable supply. It comes with its own whitepaper, which is more than most socks can claim. And it is objectively the most ridiculous birthday present ever conceived.

The blockchain was incomplete without him. It is complete now.

The world’s first shatcoin.

11. Disclaimer

$ShaToken is a meme token created as a birthday gift and a work of parody and entertainment. This is not financial advice. This is birthday advice. $ShaToken is not an investment, not a security, and not a fundraise. It is given, not sold. It has no utility and no expectation of profit, and no person or team is undertaking efforts to increase its value for your benefit. You may lose the entire (very small) amount you put into it. This document is a work of parody. SHA-256 is a public NIST standard and no trademark is claimed. This document is not legal or tax advice.
